A free extended profile. Instant messenger profiles only fit a couple of lines, so people linked out to somewhere with more room. This is that somewhere. Today it works just as well as the link in any social media bio.
Is it really free?
Yep.
What do you do with my information?
Only what it takes to run your account. Your email and last name are never public, there's no tracking or ads, and you can download your data or delete your account any time. The Privacy Policy has the details.
What can I put on my profile?
HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Images, embeds, animations, little games, whatever you like. The rules are in the Terms of Service; the gist is nothing malicious, nothing illegal, nothing aimed at hurting other people. Be cool, follow the rules & don't ruin it for everyone else.
Why does my JavaScript run inside a frame?
Your profile runs in a sandbox with its own separate origin. Your scripts can do anything inside your profile, but they can't read anyone's login or reach Studio X. That's what lets us keep the "no restrictions" promise safely. Links you add open in a new tab.
I've never written HTML. Where do I start?
The Studio X Help Guide walks you through HTML, CSS and JavaScript with examples you can edit and add to your profile in one click.
How do I restyle the parts Xinsto adds (title, away message, counter)?
Add a <style> block to Your Content. The hooks are:
#xinsto-profile (the whole page), #xinsto-title, #xinsto-meta,
#xinsto-away, #xinsto-content (your box), #xinsto-counter and #xinsto-foot.
Your colours are available as CSS variables: --x-bg, --x-text, --x-link, --x-box-bg, --x-border, --x-head-bg, --x-head-text and --x-font.
Any <h2> in your content becomes a header bar automatically.
Can I change my access name later?
Yes, in Studio X under Your Information. Your old link stops working when you do, so update it anywhere you've shared it.
How do I log in?
With the email address you signed up with and your password, from Login to Studio X.
I never got my activation email.
Check your spam folder. If it's really gone, contact the site owner.
Whatever happened to AIM?
AOL shut AIM down in December 2017. Xinsto Extension outlived it.
