About Xinsto Extension :: Who we are

Xinsto Extension gives you a profile with room for everything your instant messenger profile didn't: as much HTML, CSS and JavaScript as you want, your own colours, an away message, and one short link to share it all.

Where it came from

Back in 2006, AIM was where everyone was, and AIM profiles only had room for a few lines. Xinsto Extension was meant to be the place you linked to for the rest: a free extended profile with no restrictions on what you could put in it. The first version got as far as a sign-up form, a profile page and the start of Studio X, and then it sat in a zip file for a very long time.

AIM is gone now, but the idea still works. A link in your bio, your status or your away message can point to a page that's entirely yours. So in 2026, twenty years later, Xinsto Extension finally got finished.

The Guy Geek Behind It All

Travis Newton got interested in the Internet over the summer of 2003. He built his first website, got hooked on discussion boards, and kept hearing people talk about PHP, so he decided to check it out. About a year later he finally started learning it and found out what a wonderful language it is. Xinsto Extension was the first service he ever set out to code entirely on his own, and now it's done.
